Meet Our Team

Our clients have come to know by experience, that they can rely on us for a caring attitude and that their pets are in the very best hands with our team. Take a moment to meet our team and our own pets.

We look forward to seeing you and your pet at their next scheduled visit.

Arlette Ludgate

Veterinarian & Practice Owner

Arlette is the practice owner and the main veterinarian at the practice. Her true passion is making every one of her patients' lives better. She loves the variety of treating all species and enjoys going out on farm visits when possible. Her particular areas of professional expertise are feline medicine, companion animal dentistry and dermatology.

Arlette purchased the practice in October of 2012.  She is married to a farmer and they farm in York.  They currently still live in Stoneville and have two young children as well as a menagerie of animals.  Klara, Arlette's new German Shepherd, is always with her and you are likely to see her at the veterinary hospital where she is eager to come out and great everyone (although she is still learning her clinic manners!).

Arlette became a vet in her 30's when she realised it was one of her true passions in life, yet the one thing she had not done.  She went back to study and graduated from Murdoch University in 2007 with honours.  Since then, she has worked as a vet in Narrogin, Dongara, Mundaring and Kalamunda.  Before that, she worked as a psychologist in business, working with people to accept change.  She absolutely loves animals, is very people focused and supremely service orientated.  She enjoys providing the people of Bakers Hill (and the wider area) with an excellent and compassionate veterinary service.

Professionally, she is very comfortable treating all animals (large and small), but her great loves are cats, dogs and cattle.

Ash Plug

Registered Veterinary Nurse & Assistant Practice Manager

Charlie Wulff

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Jeneille Sinclair

Jen is our wonderful cleaner and runs around getting last minute supplies for us. She rescues us with her magic wand after some of our very busy days, and ensures that we don't run out of necessary supplies.

Tara Meling

Registered Veterinary Nurse

Tara was part of the team a few years ago but lives locally so you may well see her lending a helping hand at the practice.

Tara’s nursing passions are four legs and a tail! In other words, great and small, she loves them all! In particular, she loves treating horses and working with large animals and she enjoys emergency and critical care nursing.

After completing her training as a Veterinary Nurse in 2012, Tara worked in a small animal practice in Perth until she and her family moved into the local area to have more space for animals. Tara is married and has two small children. She owns a collection of animals, including three dogs, two horses and several chickens. She loves eventing her horses and hopes to get back to high level competition when her children have grown a little bit older.

Tara is studying psychology in her free time and feels that her psychology degree will benefit the care and compassion she dedicates to your animals every day. She enjoys a chat and can’t wait to see you and your pets at the clinic!

Tara is now course manager at the regional TAFE educating vet nurses.

Kari Luobikis

Veterinarian

Kari acts as Locum Vet for us every now and then. Kari has worked at Bakers Hill Veterinary Hospital since January 2013. Kari is an excellent all round vet but her true passion and now also expertise is emergency and critical care.

Kari graduated from Murdoch University in 2006 and spent her first 2 years in equine practice after completing an internship in equine medicine and intensive care at Ohio State University.

In 2008 Kari moved to Port Hedland to co-manage the South Hedland Veterinary Hospital where she gained extensive experience in medicine, surgery and practice management in an extremely busy, remote area hospital. She went to Cairns for a few years but returned to her roots in WA where she has spent the last few years at the Murdoch Pet Emergency Centre.

In her spare time, Kari competes with her two horses in dressage and eventing and spends time with her two Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.

Kari is currently on maternity leave.
