Arlette Ludgate

Veterinarian & Practice Owner

Arlette is the practice owner and the main veterinarian at the practice. Her true passion is making every one of her patients' lives better. She loves the variety of treating all species and enjoys going out on farm visits when possible. Her particular areas of professional expertise are feline medicine, companion animal dentistry and dermatology.

Arlette purchased the practice in October of 2012.  She was married to a local farmer. Together they have two children, who are of high school age now and who keep her quite busy! Arlette and the kids live in Stoneville with a menagerie of well loved animals.

Arlette became a vet in her 30's when she realised it was one of her true passions in life, yet the one thing she had not yet achieved.  She went back to study and graduated from Murdoch University in 2007 with honours.  Since then, she has worked as a vet in Narrogin, Dongara, Mundaring and Kalamunda.  Before that, she worked as a psychologist in business, working with people to accept change.  She absolutely loves animals, is very people focused and supremely service orientated.  She enjoys providing the people of Bakers Hill (and the wider area) with an excellent and compassionate veterinary service.

Professionally, she is very comfortable treating all animals (large and small), but her great love is cats.  Arlette breeds Maine Coons and when she can find a free moment you will find her on her horse Jasper!

Michelle Luckhurst

Veterinarian

Michelle acts as Locum Vet for us from time to time, and you are likely to have met her already. Michelle has worked at Bakers Hill Veterinary Hospital since 2021 and comes with lots of experience both in the consulting room and in surgery. Aside from that, she is just the loveliest person!

Michelle also lives in Stoneville and is a mum to three gorgeous children as well as... how many cats Michelle??

Lisa Cregan-Watts

Senior Vet Nurse

With experience in both Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) and General Practice clinics, Lisa brings a broad and well-rounded skill set to the team.

Her background spans from small animals to native wildlife, and she has a genuine passion for animal welfare. While living and working as a Vet Nurse in Geraldton, Lisa also volunteered with Midwest Marsupial Carers Inc., the local shelters and fostered dogs. These experiences strengthened her commitment to patient advocacy and community care.

Lisa’s special interests include surgical nursing, dental care and client education, patient advocacy, and fostering team morale. With her by your side, you can feel confident knowing your pets are in compassionate and very capable hands.

Kind, patient, and always happy for a chat or a cuddle with your fur babies, Lisa takes pride in helping pets and their people feel supported, educated and cared for.

In her downtime, she enjoys walking adventures with her beloved dog Henry or catching up with family and friends. Lisa is excited to be back in her home community and looks forward to meeting you and your pets.

Nicole Woods

Client Support

Nicole is new to the Bakers Hill area, where she lives with her husband and her young daughter.

Prior to nursing, Nicole worked as an Operations Manager in Global Logistics. But she knew that her true calling was helping our furry companions, so she took the opportunity, along with an interstate move, to begin the job of her dreams. Starting out in Canberra, everything fell into place where she quickly realised this is where she belonged. Now back home in Perth, she is very excited to finish off the last of her qualifications, work alongside the beautiful team and Bakers Hill Vets and expand her knowledge in a rural practice.

Her special interest is surgery (the juicy-er the better!), post-operative care and owner education.

Nicole is a caring and gentle nurse who is always up for a chat, and will never say no to getting down on the floor to cuddle the dogs!

She has recently started up her own mobile dog wash and groom service that she runs on her days off from the clinic.

In her downtime, you’ll find her taking her dogs on hikes, cuddling their pet cows, doing laps in the local pools, or running around after her toddler!

She looks forward to further servicing the community and meeting all your beloved pets!

Sharon Jensen

Sharon is our new Fairy Godmother who waves her wand over the hospital and makes everything clean and wonderful again. Aside from this thankless, though so important to the overall operation of things, job of cleaning, she also makes sure we don't run out of any supplies we need, amongst the many other things she does for us. Make sure to say hi if you see her at the clinic.
